This Privacy Policy applies to, but is not limited to, the following applications: PECSTalk, PECSTalk Lite, R+ Remind, Working4, Wait4it, PECS IV+, and iHear PECS: Animals (collectively, the “Applications”) for iOS and/or Android devices. These Applications are provided by Pyramid Group Management LLC and Pyramid Global Communication Technology LLC (collectively, “Service Providers”) as commercial services.

Information Collection and Use

a. Personal Data

The Service Providers do not actively collect or request Personal Data such as your name, email address, billing information, or device identifiers.

However, in certain cases, you may choose to provide optional information (e.g., registering the app for support, providing your email for app updates or marketing material, etc). Any information you voluntarily provide will be used only for the purposes described at the time of collection and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

b. Automatically Collected Data

The Applications may collect limited technical and usage information automatically, including:

  • Device Internet Protocol (IP) address (crash analytics)
  • Application usage statistics (pages visited, time spent, basic interactions)
  • Device hardware and software (e.g. make & model, operating system, etc)
  • Crash or error reports

This data is collected anonymously and in aggregate form and is used only to improve Application stability, performance, and user experience.

2. Children’s Privacy

Some Applications are designed for or may be used by children. The Service Providers do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent age of digital consent in your jurisdiction).

  • If we discover that we have inadvertently collected Personal Data from a child without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it promptly.
  • Parents or guardians with concerns may contact us at appsupport@pecs.com to review, update, or request deletion of their child’s information.

3. Third-Party Services

The Applications may use third-party services that collect information in accordance with their own privacy policies. These services may include, but are not limited to:

  • Google Play Services
  • Apple App Store
  • Google Firebase
  • Huawei AppGallery
  • Google Analytics for Firebase
  • Crashlytics
  • Sentry.io

These third parties may collect anonymous, aggregated usage or crash data to help us improve the Applications. No personally identifiable information is shared with them unless explicitly provided by you through their platforms.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

The Service Providers may disclose collected information:

  • As required by law (e.g., to comply with a subpoena or legal process).
  • When necessary to protect rights or safety, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
  • To trusted service providers who work on our behalf, are bound by confidentiality, and are not permitted to use the information for independent purposes.

5. Data Retention

  • Automatically collected data (e.g., crash reports, analytics) is retained only as long as necessary for Application performance monitoring and improvement, typically no longer than 12 months.
  • User-provided optional data (e.g., support requests) will be retained only as long as needed to provide the requested service, and then securely deleted.
  • Users may request deletion of their data at any time by contacting appsupport@pecs.com.

6. Security

The Service Providers take appropriate technical and organizational measures to safeguard your information, including:

  • Use of encryption where applicable
  • Restricted access to data and code on a need-to-know basis
  • Regular monitoring of systems to prevent unauthorized access

While we strive to protect your information, please note that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

7. Opt-Out Rights

You can stop all collection of information by uninstalling the Application.  To uninstall an application from your device please follow the manufacturer’s guidelines. If you need assistance with this, please email us at appsupport@pecs.com.

8. International Users

If you access the Applications from outside the United States, please note that your information may be processed and stored in the U.S. By using the Applications, you consent to the transfer of information to the U.S. and the application of U.S. laws.

9. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify users through the Applications, app marketplaces, or other appropriate channels. Continued use of the Applications after changes are posted will constitute acceptance of the updated policy.
